The London LinuxChix FAQ

1. How often does the London chapter meet?

It's very, very sporadic atm. The best thing to do is either subscribe to the mailing list, or join LinuxChix IRC on irc.linuxchix.org - join #linuxchix and ask on there.

2. What do they do?

Meet to chat and make new friends, and talk about GNU/Linuxy topics; the UK has a much smaller percentage of women in the IT industry, and sadly it's declining again. It's nice to be able to meet some women that can empathise, and balance out the ratio of techie guys and women that you know.

3. How many people subscribe to London LinuxChix?

As of September 2005 we have 43 subscribers on the list.

4. Is there a website?

Just a bare bones one, at http://thaum.net/lonlinuxchix/ It's simply a matter of putting something online; that's all.

5. Who started the London chapter?

Sarah Ewen. But she doesn't run it! Anyone in the group can propose a gathering, just sign up on the list and introduce yourself.
